Extremely well written - if one wants to stretch for a negative - you can make the case that the ending of the story dragged and lingered a bit too long

Always the best

I can always count on Michael Connelly to write a really good book.

Normally I have a hard time putting these books down but this one did not keep my interest throughout. The book seemed to be disjointed as if written by different authors. Must be time to completely retire Bosch and find a new character.

Perhaps Connelly’s best book yet. Superb plotting enhanced by a writer whose characters have improved with age thanks to the growing skills of the author. Connelly has become a superb writer.

Couldn’t put it down. Harry Bosch undercover at his age? Fantastic idea. And an encouragement to us growing in years along with him. Court scene with Haller? Hanging on every word. Great intertwine of cases, friends and family. Insights into Harry’s relationship with biological father pulls at the heart. Thanks for the years of sharing these characters, Mr. Connelly. Looking forward to next chapter in the lives of Harry and Haller.
